Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC)

Job Title:                             Executive Vice President

Compensation:                 Competitive benefits package and a salary commensurate with experience. 

Desired Experience and Attributes:
The Executive Vice President will report to the President, provide leadership to the organization and manage day-to-day operations.  Ideal candidates will bring to the position a variety of attributes, knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent communication skills and a respectful and collaborative approach to fostering partnerships and community alliances with diverse stakeholders, inside and outside the Corporation.
  • Collaborative manager of staff and operations with experience building and empowering an effective team.
  • Administrative experience, including financial management, strategic planning, program administration, board relations, and resource management, as a senior-level manager.
  • Experience with the development of public policy as well as strong negotiation and financial analysis skills essential.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and work with legislators and federal and state housing officials.
  • Expertise in affordable housing financing and familiarity with federal and state housing programs.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the President, the Executive Vice President is responsible for the effective management of TSAHC’s programs and program personnel.

Job Responsibilities
In relations with staff, the Executive Vice President will:

  • Assist President in recruitment and selection of program management team.
  • Manage and support program management team building strong morale and collaboration between departments as well as the staff and volunteers.
  • Encourage staff development and education, and assist staff in relating their specialized work to the organization as a whole.
  • Foster a climate which attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people.

In program development and administration, the Executive Vice President will:

  • Establish a long-range strategy to achieve TSAHC’s mission.
  • Ensure that programs and services are mission-driven and cost-effective. 
  • Manage and control program expenditures within agreed budgets.
  • Monitor, measure and report to President on operational issues, opportunities, development plans and achievements.
  • Ensure that all organizational policies, procedures and practices are in compliance with professional and regulatory standards and further organizational success.

In development and marketing and fundraising, the Executive Vice President will:

  • Raise the profile of TSAHC by actively and effectively representing the organization to clients, donors, community leaders and the public at large.

The Executive Vice President will also:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the evolving fields of housing finance.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business administration or related field.  A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s level education in related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years executive or management experience is required.  Executive management experience in affordable housing and/or governmental affairs is preferred.

National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC)

Director of Membership and Organizing
NCRC is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Membership and Organizing to lead the Membership Department in its strategic effort to dramatically grow membership, engage current and future members in NCRC’s policy and program work, and assist them in informing federal, state and local legislative and regulatory policymaking on the above issues.  Reporting directly to the Chief Membership and Workforce Officer, the Director of Membership and Organizing will work closely externally with local communities, current and future members, coalition partners, the progressive activist community, and internally with the policy, communications and development staff of NCRC, to develop integrated plans, strategies and tactics to achieve these goals, and further NCRC’s mission and vision.

Director of Training and Education
The Director of Training and Education reports to the Chief Membership and Workforce Officer and leads the activities and operations of the NCRC Training Academy.  The NCRC Training Academy provides substantive trainings to community development organizations, community groups, financial institutions and fair lending/fair housing advocates on collaboration and partnership building, small business and workforce development, fair lending, community empowerment and other topics.

Regional Organizer
The Regional Organizer will recruit and retain partner organizations; building and strengthening NCRC's core membership in order to help the organization more effectively serve communities and their residents seeking improved access to credit and capital, workforce opportunities and small business and microenterprise development. The Regional Organizer will serve as the liaison from the national organization to its members and provide consistent two-way communications and expertise to NCRC's state and local partners, driving the organization's goals and objectives at all levels of government and private sector involvement.  He or she will identify, activate, and train the next generation of leaders and activists in the economic justice movement.  The Regional Organizer will report to NCRC's Membership Director and will be a member of the Membership, Training and Conference team.

Membership Data Coordinator
The Membership Marketing Project Coordinator will be a key part of the membership and marketing departments, handling all related projects for membership recruitment and retention. In this role, you will coordinate strategic membership and marketing projects from initiation to implementation. You will also oversee other membership business related activities such as campaign performance reporting and disseminating and compiling member surveys.

Corporation for Supportive Housing

The Organization:

The Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) is a national, nonprofit organization that helps communities create permanent housing with services to prevent and end homelessness. CSH advances its mission by providing high-quality advice and development expertise, by making loans and grants to supportive housing sponsors, by strengthening the supportive housing industry, and by reforming public policy to make it easier to create and operate

supportive housing. CSH delivers its core services primarily through staff stationed in 13 states (Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island and Texas) and the District of Columbia. CSH also reaches many other communities that request assistance through its National Program staff.

 

The Position:

The Corporation for Supportive Housing is seeking a creative, goal-oriented individual for a Program Manager position based in Dallas. Please note that this position is a one-year contract position that will not be renewed unless CSH is able to secure funding to support this position.  Under the direction of the Texas Director (based in Austin), the North Texas Program Manager will provide projectspecific assistance, training and capacity building to community-based partners in both the public and private sectors.  In this role, the Program Manager will work directly with CSH program staff as well as nonprofit and government sponsors on supportive housing projects and development initiatives that are sponsored by government partnerships.  The Program Manager will work primarily in Dallas and Fort Worth.
